Wales is the Western part of GB. Fifteen years ago, Romans had left the B. and Saxons were coming into the country  from the east. Since 1536 Wales had been governed from England. The population of W. is about 3 mln people. Much of W., especially in the centre and north is a wild beautiful mountainous country.
In the north a pride of W. scenery is Snowdonia.  South W. is a land of high hills and wide valleys. The climate is W. is mild. The largest cities of W. are Cardiff, the capital of the country, and Swansea. There are the most important industrial centres of GB. Most of the people speak English but there is also Welsh language and a Wersh culture.  Wales has an old cultural tradition. Two of the most popular hobbies are the male voice choir and rugby. Rugby is the national game of W. W. has its own flag called the Welsh dragon. The patrron saint of W. is St David. The floral symbol os W. is a daffodil.
