Dmitriy Bilan - Russian singer and actor. Initially, the name "Dima Bilan" was a creative pseudonym, until in June 2008, he adopted this pseudonym as his real name and surname. Dmitriy Nickolayevich Bilan  was born on 24 December 1981, in Moscovskiy settlement, Ust-Dzheguta, Karachay-Cherkessia. From the very birth to July 2008 bore the name Viktor Nikolaevich Belan.  Later his family moved to Naberezhnye Chelny, then to the town called Maiskiy. It was there that he received his first musical education. Then he studied singing at the famous Gnesins' higher music college in Moscow.

In 2002, he made his debut at the festival "New Wave", getting 4th place there. The following year he released his first album "Night Bully" (Ночной хулиган).     In 2004, he began working with producer Yuri Ayzenshpis. The next hits of the singer were the songs "On the shore of the sky" (2004),  " You should be near" 2005.   In 2005, he received two Gold Gramaphone prizes for the  song

Dmitriy Bilan's first participation in Eurovision took place in 2006. His song "Never Let You Go" came in second.  The performance of the singer was remembered by an unusual addition: during the singing two ballerinas danced on the stage, and a female figure appeared from the white piano.

His real name the artist changed in 2008. The new name was not chosen at random. Dmitry - was the name of the artist's grandfather, whom he loved very much.  Dima's family is a  working one. His father, Nikolai Mikhailovich Belan, worked as a mechanic and engineer, and his mother, Nina Dmitrievna Belan, worked in greenhouses, and then devoted herself to the social sphere. The singer has two sisters. The elder sister Yelena Belan-Zimina worked as a waitress, but now she's а  fashion designer, and his younger sister's name is Anna Belan (born 1994).
