Hello Jane,

     In your last letter, you asked me to tell you about my country in a little more detail. So, I am going to describe my country as best as I can, though I can't do it as correctly as the Internet but nothing beats a personal opinion, isn't it?!

     So, Ukraine is located in Eastern Europe and borders with many other countries such as Russia, Bulgaria, Poland, and so on. In the South, it is washed by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Ukraine is rather a large country extending from the East to the West for thousands of kilometers. Apart from that, we have a great variety of rivers flowing from the North to the South, towards the seas. The Dnieper and the Dnister are the longest and the widest rivers among hundreds of others crossing the beautiful landscapes of Ukraine. As far as I know, the Carpathian mountains are considered to be the highest ones in Eastern Europe and I am particularly proud of this fact because they also belong to the territory of Ukraine.

     The capital of the country is called Kyiv and it lies in the central part of it. I don't know for sure but according to some statistic surveys, the population of Ukraine is over 40 million people.

     Jane, I can honestly say that all those wonderful landscapes, tranquility of villages, and unspoiled nature surrounding them make me proud of my country. Besides, I love people living here, they are open-minded, easy-going, and energetic and can always extend a helping hand to anyone who is in need of help.
