MC Dan: So, before beginning today's program, we did a survey where the most requested topic from our listeners was 'unusual holidays around the world.' Arina: Oh, I can't believe it Before the show, I wanted to talk about this topic, and now it turned out to be a requested topic. It is interesting and my favorite subject to talk about MC Dan: AlrightThen the mic is yours Arina: I've traveled around the world in three years, and there were moments when I participated in different events, sometimes even the holidays. Unusual holidays. So, while traveling, I understood that every culture is unique. MC Dan: Let me ask a question? Arina: Sure! MC Dan: Can you that you know? Arina: The first holiday I would like to talk about would be a Japanese holiday called Bean Throwing Day Japanese people celebrate this day on the first day of spring. This day people throw beans around places, like, homes, churches and temples. They do this to get rid of evil spirits. The second holiday is a Spanish holiday called 'La Tomatina. A festival where people throw tones of tomatoes at each other. It is celebrated on the last Wednesday of August, where around 40.000 people take part in it, and throw around 150 tons of tomatoes.
